– A sentence, or a question, sometimes heard in the heads of those who are working on stretching their comfort zones, grow, do something more and bigger than they have done before and maybe something totally different from what those around are doing.
The best advice I can give you to turn that voice off is simply to answer it and its question!
Who are we?
Regularly we should think about all our strengths, all that we have to give, all that we can do, all that we have achieved so far, both at work and in our lives. We should take all the space we need to be all that what we want to be and become all that we want to become!
Write down your dreams and the vision you have for your future. Look at this regularly, add to the list or delete from the list as best suits you as time goes by. The main thing though is to be conscious on your dreams and the vision you have for your life and how you want to live. Then every single day, step by step, work on let those dreams become your reality – nobody will do it for you.
It is perfectly natural and human to fear changes, also the changes you decide for yourself to make, whether for your work or personal life. Making a decision about changes happens often after quite some time of thinking about it and even a good look at yourself and your life. The decision is probably made because we want or need something different from what we have today.
But we know that it is one think to make a decision and another thing to implementing it.
We, who want to be brave and implementing our decisions often go through all kinds of emotions, such as excitement, stress, fear of what others will think, fear of failing and even fear of doing too well.
What might people think about us if we do too well? That is a fear many have but is not talked that much about.
To increase the chances that we will stick to our decisions and not go back to our good old shell or old habits and ways of doing things, it can be necessary to have an ally.
An ally who knows about our dream and vision, lets us know if we are not moving towards it and motivates and encourages us when we are about to give up on everything.
The ally can be a good friend, a family-member, a coach or somebody else.
Who is your ally on your journey towards your dreams and vision?
While you are thinking about who you are going to make your ally I want you to go and grab a pen and paper, ……………………… pen and paper in hand, ok.
Now write down all your strengths, everything that you have to offer, everything that you have achieved, both at work and in private life, everything that you are happy with and proud of – I´ll wait while you write this down.
Done with the writing? Yayyyyy, I´m so happy for you!
Now hold on to this piece of paper and then have a look at it the next time you start have limiting beliefs or thoughts about you and your ability to become everything that you want to!
