An eye opening conversation
Almost weekly I meet up with some of my dearest friends. We like to meet and chat and give each other heads up on what is going on in our lives. Always great and nourishing moments we have.
We also give each other “feedback” on what each and everybody shares. We do that to hold each other accountable for living the life we say we want for ourselves. This kind of conversations can be very confronting, yet encouraging at the same time. They can also be a great eye opener to blind spots one may have. I recommend this kind of friendship and this kind of conversations.
Few months ago, during one of those “meetings”, a friend of mine shared something that got me thinking.
This friend shared how well everything was going in her life. Wherever she looked in her life, everything was just going great. Except for one thing.
She said she felt bad thinking like this. She felt she didn´t have the right to be sad about this. Like she was not allowed to want more. That she should just be happy since almost everything was going so well. She talked like she had used up all her quota on happiness, wellbeing and success in life. Like she was not allowed to want more, to have a full 360° Success, like that would be too much to ask for.
It is ok to want more, or different things, for yourself
Maybe more is not the right word for you.
It may also be that you just want something different for yourself.
It is ok to want to make some changes or upgrading to your environment.
Even though it is just fine as it is.
This may have something to do with your house or the setup in your workspace. This could also be about your wardrobe or your own appearance. Or just some other things in your environment that you want to change.
It is ok to want to make some changes in your career.
Whether it is about taking bigger or different steps. Whether you want to start your own business or go for a promotion. You may even want to go for demotion if you are looking into making some other changes in your life.
It is OK to want more!
Whatever this is, it will require you to stretch yourself. To go out of your comfort zone. To learn new things, meet new people etc. – and you can do it.
There is no quota for your 360° Success.
Start by setting your own standard. Decide on your league. Then just go for it.
It does not make you a bad person to want more!
Sounds simple. That is because it is.
Don´t overcomplicate your life with some strange rules of what you are allowed to be, do or have in your life.
Be aware of any upper limit issues you may have.
