Visualize who you want to BE – so much more fun than deciding what to DO
To visualize is a great way to set new kind of New Years´ resolutions.
Many years ago I used to set very old fashioned New Years´ resolutions.
Hardly ever was I able to stick to them or turn them into my reality.
Those resolutions were all about what I wanted or felt I should do – to be able to be or have what I wanted.
Making resolutions that are all about doing are not fun! And for that reason, most of the time it is just easier to give up on them.
Getting excited about what you visualize is a good start
Few years ago I stopped making resolutions that were all about doing.
Now I make vision boards that are all about being.
When I started putting down things that excite me. Things that make my heart sing of joy, everything changed.
Now I position my vision board where I can see it daily. This vision board that shows and reminds me of who I want to be. Now it is so much more fun to do some of the things I need to do, to be and have everything I want.
It has been so great to experience how many of the things I put down on my vision board are now actual part of my daily reality. Some of my greatest experiences and memories started out as images on my vision board.
I have also chosen my word for the year and used that as a guidance in all my decision making.
In some previous years I have chosen words such as Courage, Execution and more. All those words I have used as a guide for my actions and decisions throughout the year. For the year of 2016 my word will be Consistent.
Now I want you to take some time to meditate.
Think long and deeply about who you want to BE.
Visualize your thoughts and be quite precise. Who are you, as a person and as a professional? Where are you? With whom? What are you doing etc.?
Take notice of what thoughts make your heart jump and sing of excitement. Turn these thoughts and vision into a vision board and have that visible to you every day.
Visualize and make a decision on who you want to be. Maybe you want to be successful, friendly, healthy, traveler, reader, cyclist, mindful or outgoing. Of course there will be some things that you have to do but that will all be so much easier this way.
Choosing a word that can guide you in your actions and decisions can also be very helpful.

Please do the vision board and choose your guiding word of the year. When you finish that I can promise you that you will have a great year ahead of you. A year filled with a lot of fun, lots of victories and celebrations!
