How to get unstuck is a question I sometimes get when giving my presentations, doing training or private coaching. Here I share with you 3 things that most often keep people stuck. Also tips on how to get unstuck and turn your vision into your daily reality, in work and life.
If you know where you are going…
Being this ambitious person you are. Practicing good Self-Leadership. Knowing where you want to go and what you are capable of. Having visualized how you want things to be, in all aspects of your life.
Then it can be frustrating at times when that is not what you see when you look around every day.
…but keep staying stuck where you are at…
If you are not having the career you want. If you are not satisfied with your finances or your health. If you are not having fulfilling relationships. Then that is not something you have to accept.
You can choose to change this for you. You can change this, for real. But this will not change on its own.
There may be few things holding you back. The good news are that this is something you can work your way around. You just have to know how to get unstuck.
The 3 most common things keeping people stuck – and how to get unstuck.
- Being unclear about what you want.
Write down what you want, and know why, or better yet make a vision board. How will you feel when all this becomes your daily reality? Embrace this feeling. Use it as a fuel to get you to where you want to go.
- Doubting yourself.
You may be dealing with all kinds of external obstacles. External obstacles can be issues like lack of resources, money or time. Also people in your inner circle that are not supportive of your vision. These factors have in fact lesser impact than your own internal obstacles. Your own limiting beliefs. Set those limiting beliefs free, they are not doing anything for you, so why hold on to them? Get yourself a supportive ally. This can be a friend or a coworker. A mentor or a coach. Someone that will support you and help you grow beyond this self-doubt.
- Upper limit issues.
You may be settling because you feel you have enough. Or you think that you should just be happy with current situation. Thinking that you are already doing better than a lot of other people. But what if your vision is in some ways bigger than your daily reality? Not only do you have the right to work on your vision, it is your responsibility. You need to break those upper limit issues. You can make your vision become your reality. It doesn´t matter if this has to do with your career, your community, environment, finances, health or your relationships. You can develop things and grow as a person and as a professional.
Make sure to do what you have to do – to avoid being full of regrets later on.
More people regret what they didn´t do, than the things they did do.
We live at times where (almost) anything is possible, why not use that? Use every opportunity that comes your way. Or create the opportunities you are looking or waiting for.
